Our Coir Chip Husk comes from a fully renewable resource, coconut trees, making this a very sustainable and environmentally friendly product. Coir chips are a great choice for use in horticulture and Hydroponics and can be mixed in with soil, compost, and mulches to create the perfect growing conditions for your plants. One of the big advantages of coir chips is that it is easy to handle, and it won’t blow away in the wind once it has been rehydrated, it easily re-wets and has good water retention. The husk chips are peat free and classed as pH neutral (with a value between 4.5 and 6.0) the husk is chemical free and will arrive in a compressed/dehydrated form. When rehydrated one Coir Chip Block will make up to 6 litres of mulch or bedding for numerous garden or reptile applications.

The husk sizes are around 5mm to 12mm (although sizes can vary), perfect for animals to burrow into and create nests.
